Why to study the velocity triangle for fan, turbine etc.?

Velocity triangle is used to arrive at the detail fabrication drawing of the blade

    beautiful work... only now I have trying to digest it all and so very helpful in fan blade design in centrifugal blowers. I am trying to figure the power required for a certain diameter and blade count for forward and reverse
